Yr Hen Bont is a 24 bed residential home for the elderly, catering for both ladies and gentlemen, prominently situated in Ystalyfera on the outskirts of Swansea. The home is comfortably decorated and furnished giving it a homely feel.

Local Amenities
Local amenities such as shops and clinics and pubs are all within easy walking distance of the home. The Home is on all major bus routes and the position of the home allows our residents the opportunity to remain within their community and thus help them to retain their independence.

Ethos
The home strives to provide high quality care in a relaxed, friendly, yet stimulating environment. The primary aim being to enable residents to live as normally as possible in a situation where their individuality, independence and personal dignity are respected, where they do things at their own pace, and are involved in making decisions affecting their care.

Staff
The staff at Yr Hen Bont are friendly and caring. They are there to help residents be happy and comfortable. Most have NVQ's and all are trained in first aid. All personal care given by staff is with the utmost respect for privacy.

Fees and Administration
We welcome both private and Social Service funded residents alike. Fees are based on dependency levels and are similar to Social Services funding. We do not differentiate between social services funded and privately funded residents meaning that care is delivered equally dependent on need. We can give full confidential advice and help on funding matters, and we are also contractors to each of the local Social Services Departments. Fees include laundering of personal clothing and the only expense a resident may occur are for items of a personal nature such as toiletries, telephone calls, hairdressing, chiropody etc.
